Empty Australian saltwater crocodile egg on base
Crocodylus porosus - Also known as the estuary crocodile or double crested crocodile.
Empty eggs are about 7-8cm high.
ALL eggs are stained, as the crocodile is not known for its nest maintenance. NONE are completely white and flawless. See photos for description.
It is the only crocodilian that can actually swim in the open sea, as saltwater crocodiles tolerate salt water very well and can be found in the fresh waters of rivers as well as in coastal areas and estuaries.
An imposing, powerful crocodile, its broad body contrasts with that of most crocodiles, which are thinner, reminiscent of alligators.
Very aggressive, this crocodile will attack practically anything that moves. Sometimes they venture out to sea to feed, using currents to get around.

The egg is supplied with the associated CITES import document. This specimen can therefore circulate freely in the European Union.
(CITES permit provided: Bidders are advised that some countries do not allow imported items derived from endangered species and other protected species, even if a certificate of origin is provided. By purchasing, you confirm that you are aware of the laws and customs regulations of your country).
It is not possible to remove the egg from its base.
