The megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived during the Miocene period, approximately 23 to 5.3 million years ago (duration: 18 million years).
Considered to be one of the most important and powerful predators to have ever existed, it could be found in all regions of the world, hence the diverse origins of the teeth found.
Provenance: Indonesia
It is the longest diagonal that is measured: 12cm
The enamel is in very good condition and of a beautiful colour.
The root bead has been filled in on the left-hand side (on the bulging part), as is often the case with teeth from Indonesia.
The serrations on the edge of each side of the teeth are still present!
