The megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived during the Miocene period, approximately 23 to 5.3 million years ago (duration: 18 million years).
Considered to be one of the most important and powerful predators to have ever existed, it could be found in all regions of the world, hence the diverse origins of the teeth found.
Provenance: North Carolina USA
Tooth without restoration - It is the longest diagonal that is measured: 11cm
Missing on serration, but there is no restoration of the enamel or root. The root and enamel are original.
The tooth has an atypical internal curvature dating from the lifetime of Megalodon, as a result of jaw pressure.
